Liguria. The extensive investigation by the Genoese prosecutor’s office which in recent hours has blown up Ligurian politics, as Genova24 is reporting, involved multiple political and business figures from Genoa, Liguria but not only. He also ended up among the recipients of precautionary measures Francesco Moncada, board member of long S spa, which was subject to the interdictory measure “of the temporary ban on carrying out entrepreneurial and professional activities, accused of corruption against the President of the Liguria Region“, as we read in the documents released this morning by the Financial Police.

According to what emerges from the documents, the president of the Liguria Region Giovanni Toti and the head of the Cabinet of the Liguria Region, Matteo Cozzani, the fact of having accepted Francesco Moncada’s promise is contested “of an illicit loan represented by the payment concealment of some advertising passages on the panel displayed on the Colomb Terraceo (relating to the Primocanale newspaper whose publisher is among those under investigation) for the municipal electoral campaign of 12.6.2022″, in exchange for the commitment of “unblock two Esselunga procedures pending in the Region relating to the opening of two sales points in Sestri Ponente and Savona respectively.”

Moncada is therefore currently subject to a temporary ban on carrying out entrepreneurial and professional activities. The accusation is that of corruption. The company’s response will shortly be released in a press release: “Esselunga declares that its management has always acted correctly and expresses confidence in the work of the judiciary hoping that the facts will be clarified promptly“.
