“The high-speed rail project between Salerno and Reggio Calabria represents a significant turning point for the transport system of southern Italy“. “The new line, extending for approx 152 km, – explains Saccomanno – will cross breathtaking landscapes and connect communities that until now have had limited access to high-speed rail services. The intermediate station, the subject of in-depth studies, will be strategically positioned to best serve local needs, while ensuring a positive impact on the socio-economic fabric of the area. The investment in this infrastructure will not only improve the mobility of passengers, but also that of goods, with particular attention to freight traffic in the port of Gioia Tauro. This aspect is fundamental to strengthen Italy’s position in the context of international maritime trade.
