Lamezia Terme – A regional 10.00 km road running event took place in Squillace on Sunday, organized by President Francesco Benefico’s Run For Catanzaro company. Around 230 athletes from all over the region battled on a 2500 meter course to be repeated 4 times along the beautiful seafront of Squillace. The start at 10.30 was given by the municipality’s sports councillor.
The final victory went to the athlete Danilo Ruggero from Crotone registered with a Parma club with a time of 31′ 52”, in second place Emanuele Sesti from libertas Lamezia with a time of 33′ 50” and in 3rd place Fekre Thomas of Corri Castrovillari with a time of 34’23. Libertas Lamezia present with twenty participants did well by placing its athletes among the top positions: Andrea Godino 2nd place masters 35, Domenico Tucci and Raffaele Abruzzese 2nd and 3rd respectively in the masters 40 category, Olivo Roberto 1st masters 45, Francesco Mancuso 3rd place in masters 55. In the women’s field Ivana Carnovale 2nd place in masters 60 and Antonia Tarantino 3rd place in masters 55.
