BUSTO ARSIZIO – Will be RideMovi the operator who will provide the service sharing of electric scooters and pedal-assisted bicycles in Busto Arsizio? The Italian company, leader in the shared micromobility sector, which already manages the service in cities such as Milan and Florence, came forward in the new attempt launched by the municipal administration to restore sharing in the city. And it stayed the only one of the two operators who applied to the call for expressions of interest to pass the requirements check by Palazzo Gilardoni.

The new attempt

Now RideMovi you will be able to activate the service once you sign the appropriate agreement with the Municipality of Busto Arsizio. The notice provided for «the identification of new manager of the sharing mobility service with electric scooters and pedal-assisted bicycles in “free floating”». Palazzo Gilardoni’s request was to provide the city with 300 electric scooters and 150 pedal-assisted bicycles available to citizens in free flow. Like the BitMobility scooters (before it gave up) which could be activated and abandoned anywhere in the city, while for bicycles it would be an absolute novelty in Busto Arsizio given that the previous manager only allowed sharing from the various stations located between the center and the neighborhoods (among other things, never abandoned).

The previous

It remains to be seen whether this time the prospects will materialize and whether RideMovi-branded orange bikes and scooters will appear in Busto: the last attempt, made by the Spanish operator Reby, had gone up in smoke one step away from the finish line. The company that had won the tender had in fact backed out before activating the service. Story from a year ago: the administration expected the start of the service, but after Reby had not completed the steps required for the stipulation of the agreement, the assignment of the tender it had been declared lapsed.
