Preparations are underway for the show scheduled for Sunday at 3.30pm which will see the Frecce tricolori fly over the flight space of the Lungomare Cristoforo Colombo with the spectacular trails of the colors of the Italian flag, which will dye the blue sky of the city of Trani green, white and red . Over 100 thousand spectators are expected for the event and the administration has established, for the occasion, an unprecedented pedestrian area: from via Malcangi, continuing along via Aldo Moro and via Mario Pagano until reaching via Alvarez.
Alessandro Romanazzi Carducci was enthusiastic about the entire event. «As president of the BARI Aero Club I am proud to be able to organize an air show in the skies of Puglia, and in particular in the city of Trani, with the participation of the Frecce Tricolori. Like every year, the Acrobatic Team is our welcome guest and honors us with its presence in Puglia. This year, beyond the PAN we will have the pleasure of admiring other evolutions of military and civil aircraft, and also of naval and air assets. We were happy to collaborate with the city of Trani and specifically with Mayor Bottaro, who supported us with his talented collaborators in the difficult organization of this event. It is a duty – underlined Romanazzi Carducci – to thank all those who worked both in the Municipality of Trani and of the Bari Aeroclub for the excellent work done. I also particularly thank the director of the event, the military coordinator and all those who, with their commitment, made the event a success.”
The Frecce performance will be preceded by the SAR demo of the 84th SAR Center of Gioia del Colle which will simulate a rescue action at sea with the HH139 helicopter. Also planned is the simulation of an operation to combat illicit trafficking, carried out by the Aeronaval Operations Department of the Guardia di Finanza of Bari, the overflight of two Eurofighter Typhoons of the 36th fighter wing of Gioia del Colle.
A full program will enliven the city starting from Friday 10 May with music and shows suitable for adults and children.
On Saturday afternoon, the aircraft of the aerobatic team will be heard whizzing along the Lungomare Cristoforo Colombo for the general rehearsal, while from 7 pm the notes of the concert of the Fanfare of the Air Force School Command of the III air region will resonate in Piazza Quercia conducted by the Master First Lieutenant Nicola Cotugno and with the participation of the ASD tango academy Para Dos Tango and the South Dance Center dance studio of Trani. The musical event will be preceded at 6.00 pm by the awarding of honorary citizenship to the Air Force.
