VOLPIANO – Bad accident this afternoon, Monday 6 May 2024, in via Torino in Volpiano. For reasons still under investigation, a truck and a van collided. The impact was quite violent: the truck ended its journey lying on its side in the ditch that runs alongside the road; the van ended up head-on in the same ditch a short distance away.
The two drivers were injured and were rescued by 118 personnel and transported by ambulance to the emergency room. They are not serious. The dynamics of the accident are now being examined by local police officers. The Volpiano firefighters intervened on site to ensure the safety of the vehicles involved and their colleagues from the Drago helicopter.
The road was closed to traffic for several hours to allow the influx of emergency vehicles and investigations by local police officers. We will then proceed with the recovery of the truck that ended up on its wheels in the ditch.
