3rd PERIOD: Potts after the first half mark starts with a three-point basket but for the hosts it is Buva who dominates with a 6-0 break which equals the maximum advantage (50-35 -7’49”). 4th PERIOD: Stefanelli finds the first points of the evening, Amato replies from beyond the three-point arc and the distances remain unchanged (61-51 -8’08”) but Tezenis always has Buva to supply and a much more aggressive defense on the perimeter of the first act and Villa tries to stop the game (65-51 -6’07”). Gajic scores +17 from beyond the arc then it’s a 5-0 break by Montano who suggests Ramagli to talk about it to better manage the final sprint (68-56 -4’15”). Montano and Potts try to last effort (73-65 -1’42”) while Verona records Penna’s exit due to reaching the limits for fouls with Ramagli calling time-out again. The American winger of Wegreenit has the triple of -5 but fails and with a few too many sparks with Landi and Piunti who come out after a couple of contacts with the giant Buva but the match has already slipped towards the yellow-blue victory: 77-67 final result and appointment in Milan for race 3
FINAL COMMENT: Tezenis Verona starts badly then with the reaction of captain Penna (11 points with 7 rebounds and 5 assists), Udom (14) and the usual Buva (24 and 11 rebounds) manages to take a lead which this time keeps intact thanks to a much more effective defense than the perimeter. Wegreenit never manages to find the offensive flow necessary to turn the inertia, Montano (16 points) and Amato (16 and 6 assists) the best but the points from Potts are missing as they arrive with the game almost compromised and among the big men the only one Lupusor (11 and 6 rebounds) manages to bring something to the cause; it is precisely the clear dominance under the scoreboards (43 to 26 in the rebounding battle) that gives the home team the victory. Side note for the refereeing who completely lost control of the match at the end, punishing both teams with a long series of technical fouls
