Barbera 2024 is all ready for Nice

Everything is ready for Nizza è Barbera 2024. And for the 2024 edition there are big news: this year the event dedicated to Barbera d’Asti docg and Nizza docg doubles with four days of meetings, tastings and parties from the 10th to the 13th May.

Nizza Monferrato returns to being a great wine capital: over 60 producers to meet with 400 labels of Barbera d’Asti docg and Nizza docg for tasting. You will host the gastronomic products of the «T’Amo» short supply chain. This year too, the Barbera Forum, at the Foro Boario, opens on Saturday morning and entry is exclusively for time slots with three daily shifts (10am-1pm; 2pm-5pm; 5.30pm-8.30pm). On Mondays, entry is reserved for professionals in the sector from 3pm to 6.30pm. Free entry with accreditation. Reservation required on the site.

The protagonists will be the Women of Nizza with a masterclass on the present and future vision of the Nizza docg denomination (Sunday at 5pm in the former Santissima Trinità church).

At Palazzo Crova, home of the Nizza Regional Enoteca, experiential and olfactory tastings of Barbera. Lunch and dinner with a tasting table of wines from Nizza and Barbera producers at the Osteria Vineria La Signora in Rosso. White night with open shops and gastronomic offers in the city centre, where the Wine Points will be set up with a selection of Barbera d’Asti docg and Nizza docg labels for tasting. In Piazza Garibaldi, in Piazza XX Settembre and in the historic centre, the Nice Traders Association «Nizza con il cuore» organizes a local street food in collaboration with the local Pro Loco. Sunday by bike in the Nizza vineyards, Ferrari and SuperCar car rally, taste market in the historic center.

Nizza è Barbera is organized by the Municipality of Nizza Monferrato and the Regional Enoteca of Nizza with the support of the Consortium of Barbera d’Asti and Vini del Monferrato, the Nizza Producers Association and Astesana Strada del Vino. The event is sponsored by the Piedmont Region, the Province of Asti and the Asti Chamber of Commerce.


THE PROGRAM

FRIDAY 10 MAY. The festival opens at 8pm from Piazza XX Settembre with street food: street foods and cuisines and gastronomic proposals from the area of ​​Nice’s restaurants organized by the Nice Traders’ Association “Nizza con il Cuore”. Wine Point of Barbera d’Asti docg and Nizza docg of the producers participating in the event.

At 8.30 pm in Piazza del Comune, screening of the docufilm “The courage to go beyond”, the story of a meeting, of a friendship, of an idea that becomes a project: the Guzzi motorbike.

SATURDAY 11 MAY. It starts at 9.30 with the opening toast at the Foro Boario in Piazza Garibaldi. From 10am to 8.30pm there will be Barbera Forum with entry in shifts: over 60 producers will present 400 labels of Nizza docg and Barbera d’Asti docg. You can enter in time slots: 10am – 1pm / 2pm – 5pm / 5.30pm – 8.30pm. Tastings organized by companies from the T’Amo short supply chain with their food and wine products. Entrance fee to the Barbera Forum: 25 euros.

From 12pm the Wine Points will open in the historic centre, with tasting tables of Barbera d’Asti docg and Nizza docg from the producers taking part in the event. Lunch and dinner with street food: street foods and cuisines and gastronomic proposals from the area of ​​the Nice area organized by the Nice Traders Association “Nizza con il Cuore”.

From 12pm and 8pm, lunch and dinner at the La Signora in Rosso wine restaurant with Barbera d’Asti tasting table: you will be able to taste the labels present at the Barbera Forum in combination with the dishes offered by the winery. At 5.30 pm “The Profumi of Barbera” at the Palazzo del Gusto: through a sensory olfactory tasting journey we will analyze the olfactory characteristics of the wine typical of Barbera. With the guidance of an AIS sommelier, through the use of the Sinergo wine sensory kit, the guest is invited to know and recognize the aromas and tastes of Barbera d’Asti docg and Nizza docg wine. You will also be able to taste the wine by paying attention to your returning sense of smell. At the end of the experience, small tastings of paired food are offered. SUNDAY 12 MAY. From 10am to 8.30pm the Barbera Forum continues in the Foro Boario with entry in shifts: you enter in time slots: 10am – 1pm | 2pm – 5pm | 5.30pm – 8.30pm.

Departure from Piazza Garibaldi of “By bike in the Nizza vineyards”, a guided bicycle tour to discover the Nizza docg crus organized by the Nizza Producers Association, in collaboration with Mon Bike Tour and Experience 4U. The WinePoint continues from 11am. From 10am Taste Market in the historic centre. At 10.30 the Barbera d’Asti meets the Ferraris and the SuperCars, a car rally organized by the Red Passion Owner’s of Turin.
