From today the Uffizi in Florence will only be entered with a digital ticket, the era of paper tickets is over.
Entries purchased online on the museum’s official website (www.uffizi.it) or through the call center (055/294883) for the Gallery of Statues and Paintings, Palazzo Pitti and Giardino di Boboli, become a QrCode starting today, which the visitor will receive via email and can use as an access ticket displayed in the museum directly on the phone.
The code will be verified and validated by the reception staff with ‘digital guns’.
The new procedure
The new procedure which does not cancel all bookings made so far with the ‘old’ system – eliminates the waiting time for visitors to collect the paper ticket, simplifies and streamlines the moment of entry into the gallery and also guarantees appropriate savings of paper consumption.
With the ticket voucher received via email it will also be possible to download a complete map of the route of the museum space to be visited. On these innovations, the director of the Uffizi Galleries Simone Verde: “With this new system the objective is to reduce queues and make entry into the museum easier and more fluid, making it easier for visitors, contributing to improving the quality of their stay in the museum and bringing order and beauty back to the Uffizi Square”.
