The fifth edition of the Italian-French legal studies conference in L’Aquila

L’AQUILA – The Italian-French conference entitled “One Health, health protection and reorganization of health systems”.

The international conference on legal studies, now in its fifth edition, has the patronage of the French Embassy in Italy and the Institut Français and is organized as part of the scientific activities of Research of National Interest (PRIN 2020) “The constitutional right to health and healthcare organization after the pandemic emergency”, research in which, in addition to that of L’Aquila, the Universities of Tor Vergata, Roma Tre, Genoa and the Cattolica of Milan participate.

After the institutional greetings, Prof. Fabrizio Politi, professor of Constitutional Law at the University of L’Aquila, will introduce the conference to leave the presidency of the morning session to Renato Balduzzi, professor of Constitutional Law at the Catholic University, former Minister of Health.

The morning sessions will feature professors as speakers: Carlo Colapietro (Univ. of Roma Tre), From One Health to Planetary Health: constitutional profiles; Jean-Jacques Pardini (Univ. de Toulon), Protection of health in French legislation; Donatella Morana (Univ. of Tor Vergata), Health protection between old and new balances; Rémi Pellet (Univ. Paris Cité), Politiques One Health: comment les financiers?, and Arianna Pitino (Univ. of Genoa), Health protection in mountain areas. The afternoon session will be chaired by Massimo Siclari, professor of Constitutional Law at the University of Roma Tre, and will be attended by professors: Michael Bardin (Univ. Avignone), Données personnelles et santé; Walter Giulietti (Univ. of L’Aquila), Accounting discipline of healthcare institutions and constitutional jurisprudence; Bruno Ramdjee (Univ. Paris Cité), The reception of the One Health concept is based on the French health system; Alessia Fonzi (Univ. of L’Aquila), The solidarity principle in the One Health perspective; and Cristina Equizi (Univ. of L’Aquila), One Health and territorial medicine.

“The Conference – declares Prof. Fabrizio Politi, coordinator of the L’Aquila research unit of the Prin – represents a scientific moment of absolute importance for the authority of the speakers and for the relevance of the topic addressed. The reorganization of health systems, necessary above all due to the progressive aging of the population and territorial imbalances linked to both economic and demographic factors, constitutes a fundamental test bed for measuring the effective stability of the constitutional right to health. And the “One Health” approach (according to which people’s health goes together with the protection of the environment and animals, in a holistic perspective) concretely shows its centrality and importance. These themes will be explored in depth during the conference from a perspective of comparison between the Italian and French healthcare systems”.
