The SIAP provincial secretariat of Teramo sends a request for support to its national secretariat, as the Department of Public Security recently presented a plan which provides for the inclusion of a few new agents for this province.
The PS Department’s upgrade plan for the month of October 2023had not sent any agents to the local police headquarters, even though there had been a sharp reduction in the workforce due to the retirement of numerous employees.
As a direct consequence, in date October 27, 2023 this secretariat claimed the lack of staff, a request that remained Alas unheard.
Having said this, the upgrade plan of 19 April us, appears in our opinion a “INFLAMMATION PLAN”in a context that sees a further decrease in the staff of the Teramo Police Headquarters offices for the year 2024 equal to no. 20 units in the face of the arrival of alone no. 12 agents.
A similar situation is found in the management sector, where the lack of personnel forces a super surplus of work and therefore the meager managers must, against their will, take on multiple roles.
Faced with the problem represented above, this Trade Union Organization will request an urgent meeting with the Police Commissioner of Teramo Dr. Carmine Sorienteto share a serious evaluation of the services to be carried out in the next summer season, with the provision also of the possible renunciation of the Summer Police Post on the north coast, an absolutely necessary proposal in the face of organic rationalisation, also evaluating the need for extensive coordination among the forces in the field, including the Local Police.
Added to this is the fact that the women and men of the State Police are employed daily, not only to carry out services at their own offices, but also in numerous aggregations at other offices, decimating the resources of the territory to the detriment of the guarantee of safety and burdening the remaining staff with high workloads.
In this condition, many policemen have had their holidays revoked, others are forced to work overtime hours every day to make up for personal absence, even with double shifts, in order to guarantee the efficiency and effectiveness of the territorial control services.
Another no less negligible situation is that of the high age of the police personnel in service and that of the Atri police station, the latter office has a numerically tragic staffing, which makes the only detached office of the police station almost paralyzed and inefficient.
The topic was addressed in all forums, both local and national, highlighting that the serious repercussions of an adequate presence of the State Police is fundamental not only to guarantee public order, but also to maintain a climate of security that it is an essential basis for economic development and civil coexistence.
This OS will therefore ask for an immediate strengthening of the staff of all the offices in the province of Teramo, with an allocation of resources that is proportionate to the actual needs of the territory.
Furthermore, compliance with the economic agreements will be requested, regarding the renewal of the contract and the payment of additional wages, aspects that directly influence the well-being of the staff.
The Provincial General Secretary Raffaele Loiacono has repeatedly requested a meeting with the local political authorities and regional political representatives, to find the necessary push to fill the gap in the personnel of the State Police of the province and a preventive dialogue of social comparison, without have never obtained any type of feedback on this matter.
