The water emergency that is affecting the whole of Sicily has already hit one of the most fragile targets of all.
The Farello cemetery without water. For several weeks, there have been reports from those visiting their deceased loved ones. However, the situation has not improved. There is no water and many have reported it. An obvious inconvenience, especially for the elderly who already struggle to get there, just to say goodbye to the deceased. It seems that the water is not arriving due to a leak which to date has not yet been found, despite the situation having been going on for several days, with the result that not a single water flows from all the taps of the various fountains drop.
A surreal situation, given that, as we have been able to ascertain, it has been going on for weeks, as confirmed by Irene Cassarino who goes to the cemetery every day to bring flowers to the grave of her daughter Vittoria and who for weeks has been forced to carry with her a can of water from home. Meanwhile from the Municipality, despite the reports, no one makes a move. So visitors to the dearly departed, in addition to having to deal with the deterioration of the cemetery, if they want to water the flowers brought as gifts to the graves, must have bottles already filled from home.
