The cannoli festival will take place next Saturday and Sunday in Piana degli Albanesi (Palermo). In addition to the “Cannolo Expo”, where local pastry shops will be present, there will also be numerous stands offering typical products related to craftsmanship. During the event it will be possible to visit, accompanied by local guides, the municipal villa, the cathedral, the churches, the Sheshe village (open-air museum) and the museum of the church of San Giorgio.
Finally, a competition is scheduled in which participants will try to eat a two and a half kilo cannoli in the shortest time possible. “We want to relaunch Piana degli Albanesi and our territory – says the mayor Rosario Petta – working together with our businesses with a view to the integral promotion of our uniqueness which is now also recognized at an international level. Only by combining careful and conscious management and planning and dialogue with commercial activities is it possible to achieve excellent results”.
