Ancona on holiday, waiting for the company news that will form the basis for the red and white’s near future. May and June without matches, with the championship ending with direct salvation achieved on the field last 28 April, but with a lot of irons in the fire: decisions to be made, contracts to be renewed, from the confirmation of Boscaglia to that of key players of the team, and then the choice of the new sports director, the conclusion of the transfer of ownership between the Municipality of Ancona and the Ancona Sports Center of the Passo Varano land on which the sports center of president Tony Tiong is to be built. Paradoxically, the conclusion of the championship – without playoffs or playouts – makes Ancona’s task easier as they will have to lay the foundations for next season as soon as possible. Tomorrow, in fact, as anticipated in recent days, the CEO Roberta Nocelli will fly from Rome to Hong Kong to go and discuss the hottest and most urgent issues with President Tiong in his headquarters, to clarify the managerial aspects essential to identify roles and tasks in view of the next championship.
In the meantime, Roberto Boscaglia flew to Sicily, after more than a month of hotel life, arriving last March 25th with the task of saving Ancona, a mission accomplished in just over a month. Now the well-deserved break in his Gela, from that house where he hears the sound of the sea, to recharge his batteries, waiting to plan the next meetings with Roberta Nocelli and then with the sports director. Who knows, maybe he’s Sicilian too: it could facilitate the planning of the new season, with the two talking in person rather than on the phone. For the role of manager, rumors have been circulating in recent weeks: there would be the former goalkeeper and former manager of Reggina, Massimo Taibi, from Palermo, the young and current manager of Gubbio, Davide Mignemi, from Catania, but also the Pescara native and former Brescia and Spal player Armando Ortoli.
Important names in the red and white blender, full of aspects to be sorted out and programs to be planned in order, for the good and for the near future of Ancona. From Hong Kong Roberta Nocelli will have to return with a whole series of certainties and fixed points on which to begin to rebuild Ancona from what good she has been able to highlight in this season, a season that will be consigned to the archives as one of the most miserable and suffering of recent years among the pros.
