165 kilometers to go today May 6th for the 3rd stage of the Giro d’Italia 2024, with a section that is totally dedicated to sprinters. A sprint arrival expected in Fossano after the departure from Novara. Third appointment entirely dedicated to Piedmont, with live broadcast thanks to the Rai service for both live on TV and streaming.

A moment of respite for those who aren’t strong uphill but who have a good chance of snatching a victory in the sprint. Novara-F0ssano is in fact the first stage of the 107 edition dedicated to sprinters with a slightly uphill finish line that will not take away the chances of competing for the final sprint. The best in the rankings and the climbers will rest.

The 3rd stage of the Giro d’Italia: route and altimetry of the Novara-Fossano

Totally a very long journey to the finish at the sprint. The Novara-Fassano features a completely flat route dedicated to daily sprinters. Two flying finishes and an intermediate and a 4th category GPM at the halfway point to liven up the day. It will be interesting to check the average hourly rate with which you will arrive in Fossano, given the increasingly higher speeds of recent times.

Where does the Corsa Rosa pass and at what time: timetables

You get on the pedals at 1.10pm at kilometer zero in Novara and will stay in Piedmont for the third – and last – time. You cross the provinces of Novara, Vercelli, Alessandria, Asti and Cuneo. The arrival is expected around 5.30pm in Fassano but the stage could end earlier based on the average times held during the race.

The favorites to win today’s stage

Sprinters and therefore men who are not ranked but who will want to take the glory of the day in the stages dedicated to the sprint. Jonathan Milan (Lidl-Trek) is among the most anticipated ever. Ewean and Gaviria are the main alternatives with Dainese – again for the Italians – ready to enter. Outsiders? Kooji, Jacobsen, Merlier, Girmay and Pithie.
