The manager participated in the competition. After twenty years in via Noli, you are now in Verona. She is well known in the world of cycling, she has led several Giro d’Italia. Upcoming commitments include the first stages of the Tour de France

Among the 2300 starters of the Gran Fondo Bgy, guaranteed by one of the fundamental ingredients – the sun or at least the absence of rain – there was also her, Mirella Pontiggiathe manager of the traffic police section, who had left Bergamo, after 20 years in office, for Bolzano. It was last November, but after four months here is the new transfer in Verona for Pontiggia, which is well known in the sporting field. Especially in cycling where, thanks to his considerable experience, he led the police team in some Tours of Italy. So we are used to seeing her more in professional guises than in actual cycling guises, which however she does not disdain.

Here she is at the arrival of the Gran Fondo with the patron Beppe Manenti and Giovanni Bettineschi (organizer of the local committees of the Giro d’Italia and Lombardia) which saw her involved on the short route, pedaled easily. Among his next commitments, thanks to the cycling expertise gained in recent years in the field, also the involvement in the first four Italian stages of the Tour de France, on Saturday 29 June with the Firenze-Rimini. On Sunday 30 June, the Grande Boucle will run the second stage, from Cesenatico to Bologna. On Monday 1 July the race will start from Piacenza and arrive in Turin. The last Italian act will be the departure of the fourth stage from Pinerolo, Tuesday 2 July.
