Matteo Faccenda– and those who knew him can testify to this – he was a great master in sport and in life. For this reason a group of former footballers and managers of the Trinitapoli Football of the President Leonardo Orfeo, they wanted to pay homage to a special man, appreciated and well-liked by everyone, not just in the sporting world.

The historic Mister of the Trinitapoli he passed away in May last year, at the age of 78.

The younger ones perhaps don’t know that the team of Trinitapoli of President Orfeo at youth level it was one of the strongest in Italy in the period around the turn of the nineties.

Thanks to a great organization, a management that had broad vision and a technical staff that boasted the presence of good people who were passionate about football, like the Cerignolano Matteo Faccendawho has always stood out as a discoverer of young talents.

With him Trinitapoli won several championships, including that of the Giovanissimi 89/90, with an exciting ride to say the least.

Mister Faccenda has followed since childhood and contributed to the emergence of talents such as Nicola Amoruso, Leonardo Colucci, Luigi Dipasquale, Antonio Landiand then Grieco, Porcelluzzi, Compierchio and many others.

Many technicians have had the honor of working alongside him and learning his technical and human theories: Sabinus Maternus, Ugo Catto, Michele Di Manzo, Gianluca Fino, Giuseppe Crudele And Gerardo Cotugno.

Humble and always devoted to his great passion, football, he was defined by everyone as the Maestro. For this reason he will never be forgotten, on the contrary. For what he did, taught and sowed, his memory will always remain alive, both on and off the football pitch.

The Matteo Faccenda Memorial will take place Sunday 12 May at theSalesian Oratory “Christ the King” of Cerignola starting at 5.30pm.
