Latina Lido stabber admits before the investigating judge. “But they threatened me”

The 31-year-old accused of the attempted murder of the restaurateur was questioned yesterday morning in Rome by the Capitoline judge for preliminary investigations Ercole Fanti. Mirko Moretti he admitted everything but also expressed the desire to speak, to tell from his point of view what happened on May 1st at the Lido di Latina in the “Capitan Vasco” restaurant. But the judge declared his incompetence over the case and announced the transmission of the file to his colleagues at the Court of Latina.

Moretti, who had been tracked down and stopped by the agents of the Flying Squad Latin a few hours after the stabbings in a street in Quadraro a Rome, not far from his home, only had time to admit his responsibilities but explained that the facts did not happen as they were described by the witnesses of the attack. “My client – explains the Roman lawyer Marco Zaccaria – detailed what happened and brought the names of several witnesses in support, reserving the right to clarify before the competent magistrates how the facts unfolded”.

In essence, before the judge Moretti would have said that he had been heavily threatened before the stab wound to Ercole Fanti’s abdomen. A version that will have to be verified by the investigators, which is why tomorrow the defense lawyer will ask the Pontine Prosecutor’s Office to listen to his client. At the end of yesterday’s interrogation in prison, the Roman investigating judge validated the arrest on the initiative of the Pontine investigators and confirmed the precautionary custody in prison.

So no surprises. On the other hand, Moretti was filmed by a surveillance camera in the club while he delivered the stab wound that hit Fanti in the abdomen, a blow that came at the end of a violent argument at the back of the club in which several people participated. Fanti himself, on Friday, declared from a bed in Goretti that he had intervened at the height of the discussion that arose over the size of the lunch bill to help a friend who he said had been attacked.
