The party of “No Tickets” he doesn’t give up, on the contrary he doubles down by moving on to the “de facto ways”. A website was created by anonymous hands for boycott the entry fee. The heading reads: “Venice, open city: Venice is not a museum. You don’t have to pay to enter a city. Become friends with a Venetian and visit the city without paying for any ticket!”. Yes, because it is no longer a socio-political battle and slogans, now the site has also prepared a ploy to let visitors in without them paying the “Access Fee”.

The site saw the light yesterday and promises everyone to enter, on paid days, without paying any ticket: “become friends with a Venetian and visit the city without paying for any ticket”, with two buttons: one to donate a code, the other to receive it. And the system apparently works, so much so that in the header the site promises: “There are currently 228 codes available with which you can invite 2253 friends”.

In practice, the system pairs an arriving tourist with a resident who “simulates” having invited him for a visit. The “sly trick” is based on one of the exemptions thought of by the Administration Don’t make friends and acquaintances pay who come to visit a resident. Compliant “No Ticket” residents, therefore, by clicking on the site, leave their availability recorded which generates a “friend code” which will then be passed on to the traveler allowing the origin of a exemption qr-code.

A nice operation of civil disobedience, no doubt about it, which however the municipal administration decided to tackle head on. And the controversy is no small matter because, in addition to the damage to the image that is created for the city’s administrative policy, the action causes the economic damage of lost revenue which could even have criminal implications according to experts.

The first step was taken at Ca’ Farsetti with theexposed to the postal police which could also lead to the closure of the site as well as the identification of the authors.

Meanwhile, the tenth day of the entrance fee to Venice recorded 20,081 paying people, an increase compared to yesterday’s figure, but less than last Saturday. There are 56,464 codes issued for exempt guests in accommodation facilities, who are not required to pay because they already pay the tourist tax.
