Carabinieri investigators have little doubt as to how they died Laura Lupothe 62-year-old municipal police inspector, e Pietro Delia, 66 year old accountant. The woman allegedly shot her husband head-on from a distance of less than three metres. The woman fired two more shots at herself. Both at her head, the first grazed her, the second killed her. The murder-suicide occurred between 6.30 and 7 this morning at number 49 in via Notarbartolo in Palermo. The exact time will be determined after the autopsy scheduled for Monday. The man was hit in the chest and abdomen.

Husband and wife were found dead in their apartment. It was her daughter who worked with her father in the accounting firm who accompanied her parents, after an evening spent together, to the apartment in via Notarbartolo. Everything seemed to be absolutely normal. This morning the daughter looked for her 66-year-old father Pietro Delia to go to work together. It was she who raised the alarm. The firefighters and the police found the two bodies lying on the floor in the kitchen. Laura Lupo had the gun in her hand. The apartment was in order nothing was out of place. The couple has another son who is away for work and is returning to Palermo. Laura Lupo served in the offices of the Justice of the Peace. Pietro Delia was an accountant and also worked on behalf of a bank.

“We are shocked. Our colleague was appreciated by everyone and we would never have thought of such a tragic epilogue. We are waiting to understand what happened, but I can immediately say that none of us could have imagined a disaster of this magnitude. Laura was an esteemed person who we all loved” says Nicola Scaglione, provincial secretary of the CSA and colleague of the municipal agent.
