The president ofNational University of La Plata (UNLP), Martín López Armengol, has hosted several Italian universities in recent days to discuss academic cooperation and technology transfer. They participated in the meeting, which had the aim of exchanging work experiences Francesca Spigarellirepresentative of the University of Macerata (UNIMC), And Attilio Mucelliof the Polytechnic University of Marche (UNIVPM), both specialists in innovation, technology transfer and business. Also present at the meeting were the secretary of Technological Connection, Gonzalo Márquez, and the director of the area, Juan Pedro Brandi.
The organizers explained that the objective of the meeting is twofold: on the one hand, to learn about the Italian experience on academic entrepreneurship and the technological connection in “unconventional” fields (humanistic, artistic, among others). On the other hand, the idea was to exploit the speakers’ experience in large European academic and business cooperation projects.
During the day the following working topics were developed: technology transfer and academic entrepreneurship; university spin-offs in unconventional sectors; the role of international cooperation; experiences within the European Union and cooperation with China.
As part of the visit, López Armengol thanked the presence of Italian teachers to share their experiences: “these spaces are very important to continue generating connections between countries, and in particular between higher education institutions, to promote the creation of businesses technological and social innovation projects”.
The president of the UNLP concluded that “in this context it is important to reiterate that the university continues to manage and work on innovative projects that allow the generation of knowledge to be put at the service of the main development requests of the country”. (aise)
