The woman found dead at home in Palermo was a 62-year-old police officer from the municipal police command, and from the first reconstructions it was the service pistol that was fired (which she then turned on herself). Her partner, 66 years old, was an accountant.

The dynamics would leave no room for doubt: the woman would have killed her husband with the service pistol and then fire at herself with the same weapon. THE fire fighters and the police found the two bodies lying on the ground in the kitchen. Laura Lupo was still holding the gun.

To give thealarm it would have been the daughter of the couple, who, unable to contact her parents, alerted the emergency services. The couple has another son, who is away for work and is returning to Palermo. The firefighters who responded to the scene broke down the door and then discovered the bodies.

Laura Lupo had been serving in the corps for thirty years municipal police. For a few years she had been seconded to the offices of the justice of the peace in via Cavour. Pietro Delia’s studio is located in via Nicolò Gallo, between via Libertà and the Politeama. The man also worked on behalf of a bank.

“We are shocked. Our colleague was appreciated by everyone and we would not have never thought of such a tragic epilogue“, says Nicola Scaglione, a trade unionist and colleague of the woman. “We are waiting to understand what happened, but I can immediately say that none of us could have imagined a disaster of this nature. Laura was an esteemed person who we all loved.”
