Yesterday evening, the men of the Massa Penitentiary captured a Senegalese prisoner in Marina di Massa who had been admitted to work outside the prison but who had not returned for a few days and had therefore escaped.
“A brilliant operation for which I express my heart’s content appreciation on behalf of all Sappe, the first and most representative union of the Blue Basques”. The regional secretary declares it Francesco Oliviero, which reconstructs the phases of what happened: “Two penitentiary policemen from the Prato prison, free from duty, had identified the escapee, MM, near Marina di Massa. They proceeded to chase him in an attempt to stop him, but the inmate, realizing he had been recognized, pulled out a knife of large dimensions, shouting at the officers to move away and then fleeing. At that point colleagues alerted the department commander and the other police forces, without however losing the attention of the fugitive”,
Moments of high tension, highlights the trade unionist: “The department commander, together with the penitentiary policemen of the Massa prison, who made themselves available for the operation, went to the place of the sighted where, supported by colleagues from the other forces of the order, they patrolled the area. Thanks to an intuition of the department commander, and considering that the inmate had a cell phone, he had a colleague call him in order to have him turned in, by virtue of the greater confidence with the fugitive due to the previous work activity carried out by the inmate at the Penitentiary bathing establishment. Mediation between the parties began, thus bringing this activity to a positive outcome, managing to bring the escapee back to the institute late in the evening.”
He adds Donato Capece: The capture of the man was conducted in a perfect manner from an operational point of view, with great professionalism and with the utmost discretion and safety. I express my heartfelt appreciation to the men of the Massa Penitentiary Police who actively participated in the investigations and capture of the subject and to the department commander who coordinated them. This delicate service operation also gives us the opportunity to highlight the increased daily operational capabilities of the Penitentiary Police in terms of fighting and combating crime”, concludes the national leader of the first trade union of the Corps”.
