MESSINA – I’m Roberto With you and Francesca Bonanzinga the two new magistrates who join the Messina anti-mafia district directorate, led by the chief prosecutor Antonio D’Amato. The designation was made official on Friday 3 May, after the favorable opinion of the national anti-mafia and anti-terrorism prosecutor.
The two substitutes will deal above all with the crime that holds the Ionian area of Messina in check, D’Amato has in fact assigned them both to the macro work area “Messina and Ionian area”.
The PMs Annamaria Arena, Giuseppe Adornato, Roberta La Speme, Piero Vinci and Marco Accolla had also submitted an application.
The public prosecutors will therefore move from the basement floors of the ordinary Prosecutor’s Office to the first floor of Palazzo Piacentini, where the deputy Liliana Todaro, whose application is expiring, and Rossana Casabona, appointed prosecutor in Caltagirone, will leave the Anti-Mafia District Office.
In recent years, the two magistrates have coordinated several important investigations into economic crime and crimes against the public administration, but also against drug dealing and crimes against vulnerable groups. From today they will continue to do so when applied to the even more delicate investigations which also concern the mafia.
