The national government accepts a request for funding made by the municipal administration of Aprilia, which will allow the number of nursery schools present in the Aprilia area to be increased to three, expanding the number of citizens who will be able to access the service.

In the last few hours, the administration welcomed the news of the publication of the Interministerial Decree of 30 April 2024 signed by the Minister of Economy Giancarlo Giorgetti and the Ministry of Public Education Giuseppe Valditara, with which further interventions were financed for the creation of nurseries and preschools, including a project that concerns the city of Aprilia.

In fact, the Municipality had presented two projects: the first financed and contracted, for the construction of a nursery school in via Istria, the other for the construction of a complex in via Pergolesi, not financed but in the ranking. Thanks to the decree, this project will also be able to see the light.

“Thanks to the decree – states the mayor Lanfranco Principi – in the next few years Aprilia will be able to benefit from three nursery schools, which will allow it to respond to the real needs of Aprilian families. Until now the institution had the possibility of welcoming only 49 children at the the only municipal kindergarten Domenico D’Alessio, in response to a much larger request. We will soon be able to host another 108 children in public nursery schools, giving a concrete response to as many families who were waiting to be able to use the service”.

The financing amounts to over 2 million euros and the city of Aprilia, in 16th place in the ranking, will soon be able to start the process for the construction of the new complex which will increase the offer with 108 new places.

“Despite the enormous difficulties of the sector, due to the lack of personnel – adds the councilor for public works Marco Moroni – we will put in place the maximum effort to make the most of this important financing. The new structure will be built on land between via Monteverdi and via Pergolesi, owned by the Lazio Region. We are communicating intensively with the Region’s heritage office and have identified legislation that will allow the Region to transfer the land free of charge to the Municipality, which had already made a reasoned request in April. For this I would like to thank councilor Fabrizio Ghera and president Francesco Rocca on behalf of the entire administration. Evidently the government chain is producing the first important results for our community.”
