In the heart of Faenza, a targeted operation conducted by the Carabinieri has dealt a serious blow to drug trafficking. Thanks to a long and scrupulous investigation conducted by the Faenza and Faenza Borgo Urbecco stations, together with the Operational Unit of the Faenza Company, a vehicle with three young Italians already known to the police for similar crimes was stopped.
During the arrest, the military discovered that the young people were in possession of a considerable sum of cash, as well as narcotic substances, including cocaine and hashish, ready for sale. This led to a house search in the home of one of the suspects in Cotignola (RA), supported by the Carabinieri of the Lugo Company.
The result of the search was significant: numerous precision scales, firearms, ammunition, an electric deterrent, knives, drug packaging material together with 600 grams were seized. of marijuana and some doses of cocaine and crack. As a result of these findings, a 35-year-old man was arrested on charges of drug trafficking, receiving stolen goods, illegal possession of weapons and ammunition, and possession of counterfeit currency. The other two individuals were instead reported to the Prefecture of Ravenna for personal use of drugs.
Investigations will continue to determine the use of the seized weapons and any links to other crimes in the area or further afield.
