On the occasion of National day against pedophilia and child pornographywhich occurs on May 5th of each year, the Police post office of Piamonte and Valle d’Aosta has released a dossier with your business data.
In 2023 they were 140 cases of child pornography processed by the Cyber Security Operations Center in the two regions, given that it includes 36 cases of solicitation of minors. The year before there were 111 cases. The number of suspects who passed also increased from 68 in 2022 to 98 last year and those arrested, went from 4 to 9.
Among the most important activities, the Aosta police station reports the Operation “Wick”, through which the Cosc of Turin, “after intense activity under coverage on a well-known messaging application, performed throughout Italy 30 searches delegated by the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Turin, following which they were 24 users reported responsible for sharing child pornography material, of which 3 arrested in flagrante delicto for possession of a large quantity of child pornography material”.
In May 2023, investigators from the Turin postal police instead a thirty-three year old arrested found in possession of over 80 thousand images produced through sexual exploitation of minors.
In this sense, the prevention that the postal service initiates is fundamental constant monitoring of the network – to limit the circulation of sexual photos and videos of minors under the age of 18 – both through moments of aggregation with children, parents and teachers during meetings in schools or as in the case of the educational campaign “A social life”.
