The Girogustando project is back: among the new features is the miners’ dinner

Grosseto: Back with lots of news Wandering in Maremma. In addition to four-handed dinners (which will be ten in total) this year there will be a real event to open the food and wine review organized by Cat Confesercenti Toscana, with Confesercenti Grosseto, Chamber of Commerce of the Maremma and Tyrrhenian Sea through Vetrina Toscanathe Region and Unioncamere Toscana project that promotes restaurants and shops that use local products.

One of the first appointments, on June 26th, will in fact be the miner’s meal, entitled Piatti di pirite, a dive into the recent past of an area, that of the Colline Metallifere, which has its roots in the mining culture. The dinner, based entirely on typical dishes and popular tradition, will be preceded by a guided tour of the mining museum of Gavorrano, and an aperitif at the suggestive Teatro delle Rocce, thanks to the collaboration of the Municipality of Gavorrano, which accepted the proposal.

The dinner, organized in collaboration with the Gavorrano restaurateurs’ association, will take place in the former Bagnetti, where the miners’ changing rooms were once located and which is now the headquarters of the Colline Metallifere National Park.

Obviously this won’t be the only news: in Castiglione della Pescaia the evening at Pescaia Walking food will demonstrate how take-away can also be done without ever sacrificing quality.

From September then four-handed dinners (even in a beach establishment), as we have been accustomed to for some time, with restaurateurs who will also participate from outside Tuscany, with paired wines from the Maremma Doc.

And at the end of the project another novelty. Collaboration will be established with the Leopoldo II hotel institute of Lorraine which will organize a dinner in collaboration with the hotelier Pellegrino Artusi of Chianciano. The kids will try their hand at a “multi-handed” preparation that will culminate in an evening open to the public.

This is also why a project like Giurogustando continues, over the years, to be successful, both among the public and among restaurateurs who find in this initiative a way to deal with different culinary cultures and grow professionally, as well as making our typical dishes known in the rest of Italy.”

As every year, the partners include Seggiano oil, the Consortium for the protection of Maremma wines whose wines will be served by sommeliers who will also explain their organoleptic properties.
