There are 63 beneficiaries who appear to have unduly obtained citizenship income, for a total amount of 691,000 euros.
The checks affected the entire territory of the Capitanata and were carried out, in particular, by the Fiamme Gialle of the Cerignola and San Severo Companies, as well as the Tenenze of Vieste, San Nicandro Garganico and Torre Fantine.
The criminal proceedings are still in the preliminary investigation phase.
Numerous irregularities were found by the Fiamme Gialle, ranging from the lack of the requirement of actual residence in the national territory to false declarations relating to the composition of the family unit, from the failure to declare the carrying out of work activities, in several cases even carried out illegally, to loss of the right to benefits as a consequence of the state of detention.
In a municipality in the Gargano, an entire family unit would have presented applications to obtain citizenship income, attaching a substitute declaration missing the indication of the exact composition of the family unit, thus unduly collecting a total sum of over 21,400 euros.
