“Tourism, Marotta is the driving force behind Fano Sud”

“Those taking place in Marotta and Mondolfo are quality initiatives, which contribute significantly to the promotion of the area and have important implications for hospitality activities”. Davide Caporaletti, municipal councilor for tourism, did not like the words of former regional councilor Boris Rapa, according to whom Marotta lacks events capable of attracting flows of people. “I gloss over the opportunity to trigger such a controversy in view of a season that promises to be under the best auspices – continues Caporaletti -. But I cannot help but point out that this instrumental ‘offensive’ aimed at our administration turns out to be, above all, a lack of respect towards the operators and the many associations that every year, in collaboration with the Municipality, work with passion and energy to improve the integrated tourist offer of Marotta and Mondolfo. As for our alleged lack of courage, we do not accept the provocation and let the facts speak.”

‘Facts’ which for Caporaletti translate into numbers: “Since we took office in 2016, there has been a positive trend for tourism and 2022 marked the record for presences, which were 190,750 (+16% compared to 2019, last year pre-Covid), substantially confirmed also in 23”.

The councilor then goes on to analyze the program of initiatives: “In addition to the mega events that the former regional councilor would like, which ultimately boil down to bringing people for a very small number of days, there is also a quality tourist offer and sustainable, on which we have always focused. In the next few days we will present the 2024 summer program, which contains confirmations and important new attractions for citizens and holidaymakers and includes events of absolute excellence that are growing and arousing great interest, even from outside the region. for example, the literary festival ‘Come un libro all’aperto’, which boasts the artistic direction of Marino Bartoletti and which this year includes 13 appointments with prominent authors from 18 June to 24 July, the ‘Marottanta’, four days; of immersion in the music of forty years ago, scheduled from 3 August; the ‘Marotta Acustica Festival’ which will take place on 9, 10 and 11 August; and the ‘Tramantici’ accordion festival, the only one of its kind in Italy, which we successfully launched last year and which in 2024 will liven up the entire last week of August”.

Caporaletti concludes: “Other than living on reflected light. If anything, it is the southern area of Fano, beautiful and welcoming, which often benefits from the initiatives organized in our territory, as demonstrated by the many holidaymakers who move here every day in summer to participate in our events”.
