LOCRI – The film shot in Gerace, “Il mio posto è qui”, will be officially presented next Thursday 9 May at 8.30 pm, at the Sala Blu of the Cinema Vittoria.
The directors Daniela Porto and Cristiano Bortone and the entire cast will participate in the event.
Previewed at Bifest 2024 – Bari International Film Festival, “Il mio posto è qui” won two awards, namely the “Mariangela Melato Award” for best leading actress in Ludovica Martino and the “Giuliano Montaldo Award” as director in Porto and Bortone.
PLOT
“My place is here”, set in the aftermath of the Second World War in a small village in Calabria, Gerace, tells the story of the friendship born between Marta and Lorenzo (played by Ludovica Martino and Marco Leonardi), she is a single mother, who has been promised as a wife to a man she is not in love with; he, however, is a gay man, known for “organizing the weddings” of others.
Their meeting will lead to the birth of a strong bond, which will allow both of them to fight against the prejudices of the small and bigoted community in which they live and Marta to seek her place in the world as a woman.

The Cinema Vittoria staff invites all interested parties to book (for limited places) the relevant entrance tickets, the cost of which amounts to 7 euros, while for associations and groups, 6 euros.
