WEDGE NEWS – The projects of the “S. Grandis” institute in Cuneo continue which look towards Europe. The Erasmus + adventure for four Spanish students, hosted by as many families of students from the Grandis Institute of Cuneo (Giorgia, Sara, Linda and Candela) from 8 to 22 April, ended with a weekend in the upper Maira Valley.

The Spanish girls, Lola, Agatha, Maria José and Miriam completed the internship in the Municipality of Cuneo, at the Europe Direct Office, at Cônitours – Consortium of Tour Operators Province of Cuneo Country Travel Tour Operator, Municipality of Cuneo, the Nordica Viaggi agency and at the Secretariat Office of the Grandis Institute. “In giving thanks the bodies that supported us, primarily the Municipality with the mayor Patrizia Manassero and the deputy mayor Luca Serale – states Milva Rinaudo, director of the Grandis Institute -, the experience was once again a reason for mutual growth for all of us and for our territory”.

Precisely for the knowledge of our territory, the teachers Elisabetta Bergia, Barbara Blangetti and Franco Cuzzzocrea have organized moments of leisure and visits to the Sanctuary of Vicoforte and the city of Mondovì, Saluzzo and the Staffarda Abbey, the Langhe, Turin and the Venaria Castle and a whole day in the Cinque Terre. The students were then able to admire the city of Cuneo thanks to the explanations of Professor Antonella Villosio Villosio and had a moment of meeting with the mayor and deputy mayor Luca Serale which allowed them to better understand the structure of the city. The fabulous spring weather made the walk to the River Park unforgettable.

The stay of the Spanish students follows the visit to the cities of Merida and Calamonte, home of the Spanish institute partner for the Erasmus project. 18 Grandis students were able to admire the beautiful region of Extremadura in December. Also during the stay it was possible to meet and see the Centri de Plena Inclusion Merida, ONCE (National Ornanismo of the blind and people with special needs) of Càceres; https://www.once.es, on the theme of inclusion and visit local working and governmental realities.

In addition to the students, it was possible to increase the training skills for the Spanish teachers with visits to the New Technologies Center of our Institute, as well as the electrotechnics and optics laboratories, organized by teachers and students of our school. “Grandis” believes very much in the great training and educational value of Erasmus projects and thanks students, families, teachers, businesses and institutions for making this project possible. The European dimension is our present, let’s build a peaceful European future together.
