Weather forecast for next week

The good weather expected starting from the weekend will be short-lived as as many as 2 cyclones will arrive over the next week, capable of triggering a major wave of bad weather in many of our regions.

So there is still room for dynamism on the weather front, which is also typical of this phase of the year in which conditions are extreme due to the strong contrasts between different air masses. It’s all the fault of a vast depression area well present between central-northern Europe and the Atlantic Ocean which continues to drive disturbances as far as the Mediterranean basin. We must imagine it as a sort of “open wound” in the pressure field that has lasted for several weeks now and which keeps the weather conditions rather unstable even in Italy.
The week will start immediately with a bang: starting from the day of Tuesday 7 May a first cyclone it will fully affect our central-northern regions. Precisely because of the speed with which the irruption will take place and the great energy at play, as well as the strong contrasts between completely different air masses, the ideal conditions could be created for the development of impressive storm cells capable of triggering strong gusts of wind and local storms. Maximum attention must be paid in particular to northwest and ai Tyrrhenian sectors (Tuscany And Lazio) where we do not exclude the risk of flooding.
In addition to rain and thunderstorms, it will also return snow on our mountains: the latest updates predict a large load on the Alps starting from 2000/2200 meters above sea level.
Subsequently, this low pressure will deepen over the Tyrrhenian Sea triggering intense rainfall between Wednesday 8th and Thursday 9th May over almost all of Italy, alternating however with drier pauses, a sign of a distinctly spring-like bad weather.

Cyclone descending from Northern Europe towards Italy
And it didn’t end here: already between the following night and the early hours of Friday 10 May a second and insidious cyclone is destined to reach our country, giving rise to a new one worsening with the return of heavy rains and storms.
Given the time gap, which is still too long, we will have the opportunity to return to this latest worsening in our next updates.
