There Courmayeur – La Salle musical band is ready to leave for an unforgettable trip to Rome on 4 and 5 May 2024. The musicians from the upper valley, who will leave together with a delegation fromOrchestra d’Harmonie de Chamonixwill play in the presence of the Holy Father on Sunday 5 May in St. Peter’s Square in Rome for the Angelus.

The rally

The initiative was set up by the Castello Tesino Folk Band of Trento and the Giacomo Puccini Music Band, city of Cave of Rome, which they managed to bring together under the hashtag 12 Italian gangs in the capital.

, however, has a story that began in 2021, when the Trentino musical group sent a handwritten booklet by post, which traveled across Italy and where each band drew and wrote their own story. The text, which collected the drawings and musical stories of many groups, created an indissoluble bond between musical bands throughout Italy.

From a story to sharing: the book has practically become an initiative, from its name which culminated in the return of the little book to its starting point in 2023, in Trento.

And this is how will finally take to the streets this weekend with a special initiative: the musical gathering in the capital of 12 bands to strengthen the bond created over these years.

The gathering of the bands in Rome

The rally will take place on 4 and 5 May 2024 and will see the participation of the following bands:

In addition to Courmayeur – La Salle musical bandthe leaders of the initiative will participate in the gathering Castello Tesino Folk Bandfrom Trentino Alto Adige and the Giacomo Puccini Music Band, city of Cave, from Lazio; then there Sardinian musical band from the city of Tempio Pausania; the Venetian one of Lusiana Band, by Lusiana Conco; The City of San Salvo Band Complex, from Abruzzo; The Venagrande APS Band Concert, from the Marche; there “Vittoria” Philharmonic Orchestra by Settimo Vittone, of Turin; thereSanta Maria Immacolata Musical Association of Loano, in Liguria; The Raimondo Farina Band Complex in the city of Spinazzola in Puglia; L’APS Musical Band city of Avigliano of Potenza, in Basilicata and the“G.Verdi” ETS Band Association of Bussetofrom Emilia Romagna.

The program

The Solemn Holy Mass is scheduled for Saturday 4 May at 3pm in St. Peter’s Basilica with a liturgical musical service.

At 5.30 pm in Piazza del Campidoglio the Castello Tesino Folk Band will deliver the booklets, after which all 12 bands will perform with the Mameli Hymn and the Hymn to Joy under the direction of the maestros Ivan Villanova And Mario Muraglione.

The band gathering is scheduled for Sunday 5 May at 9am from Castel Sant’Angelo.

At 10 am the parade will be held along Via della Conciliazione together with the Police Fanfare.

Entrance to St. Peter’s is scheduled for 11am. Followed by theAngelus of Pope Francis at 12, with the Holy Father’s greeting to the faithful. Finally, the performance of the Christus Vincit and a musical farewell.
