Weeds and broken sidewalks in via Madrid in Olbia, reporting

May 2, 2024

A reader reported the sidewalk situation in the Olbia neighborhood.

In Sa Minda Noa, as in some suburbs of Olbia, some residents complain about the presence of tall weeds and damaged sidewalks. A resident in via Madrid, in the Sa Minda Noa district, reported the conditions of the road to the Gallura Oggi editorial team.

“I have repeatedly reported in recent years – writes the reader – but I have never received any feedback from you and there has never been any maintenance or cleaning in recent years. Other areas of Olbia are cleaned regularly and disinfestation for mosquitoes and ticks is even carried out. In our neighborhood we have broken and dangerous pavements, with the risk of falls and in the summer these weeds are filled with ticks. It becomes impossible and dangerous to walk on the sidewalks.”

The resident explained that the road is cleaned, but not in the pavement area, which remains excluded from vehicle operations. “We are citizens who regularly pay taxes and we feel discriminated against and abandoned, living in degradation,” she complains.
