The technical reasons are to be found in a bandit attack, carried out at 11.30 by a lone robber with a fake beard and mustache and two guns, probably toy, given that when he entered the bank the alarm systems were not triggered.
With the two guns he threatened the employees who handed over all the banknotes they had (over 25 thousand euros). Then the escape on a bicycle that the bandit had parked a stone’s throw from the bank. According to initial information, the robbery would have been planned down to the smallest detail: the robber knew that a security van would have to arrive in Piazza Grimoldi to collect the money, which took off together with the bandit, who spoke without particular inflections. The images from the video surveillance system of the bank and the historic center should help the investigators of the Como Flying Squad.
