Potenza, the 45-year-old Brazilian suffering from “dengue” fever is well

POTENZA – The 45-year-old Brazilian set designer, hospitalized in the infectious diseases department of the San Carlo hospital after having contracted “dengue” fever, is in good health. She is in Basilicata for work: she is engaged, in fact, in the making of the film “Loucos amores Liquides” by the Brazilian film company Dna Producoes Artisticas, with the executive production of the Lucanian Sirio Studios. The first take is scheduled for Monday 6 May. The set designer should be discharged next Saturday. Dengue fever is a viral disease spread by infected mosquitoes of the Aedes genus. It is transmitted to humans only through the bites of insects which, in turn, bite an infected person. There is, therefore, no possibility of direct contagion between human beings. According to what was reported by the Institute of Public Health, from January to today 117 cases have been recorded in Italy, all “imported” from abroad. At a global level, Brazil and Argentina are the countries most affected by this infection which has an incubation period between 3 and 14 days and can also be asymptomatic.
