Last days to register for the “Being yourself” competition

The competition does not require an entry fee and aims to investigate the theme of homosexuality and the feelings connected to it, through real or invented stories, belonging to different genres (romance, noir, contemporary realism, fanfiction, historical and fantasy), this year will have as its underlying theme that of love and solitude, the condition of those who, even if only temporarily, experience this movement of the soul during their existence.

There are two categories of participants: on the one hand the category “Young”, from 14 to 19 years and on the other the category “Adults” starting from the age of 20.

The first three classified in each category will receive the following prizes: 1st classified €500, 2nd classified €200, 3rd classified €100. The great news of this edition is that during the award ceremony for the winners, a volume will be presented, published by Team Service Editore of Asti, in which all the stories received in 2023 have been collected. It will be a real book in which all the stories from the previous edition have received equal press dignity and will be found online and in all local bookstores. All this year’s stories will also be published in a volume that will be presented during the next edition of the Prize and sold in bookstores from next year.

Partners of the event organized by the Municipality of Asti for the 2024 edition will be Israt, the Astense “Giorgio Faletti” Library Foundation, Acchiappalibri, the Equal Opportunities Commission of the Municipality of Asti and the Province of Asti, Soroptimist Asti and AIDM (Italian Association of Women Doctors) Section of Asti.
