SYRACUSE, NY — This is a really big dill!
Syracuse’s Brooklyn Pickle will celebrate the grand opening of its latest restaurant in Raleigh, North Carolina. This expansion marks the second Brooklyn Pickle to open in North Carolina, and the 6th overall location. The new location opens Monday, May 6 at The Marketplace at Lake Boone.
The franchise’s owners, Peter and Jane Kim, say they are excited to bring the Syracuse staple to their neighborhood.
“Brooklyn Pickle is known for deliciously overstuffed sandwiches and a unique homemade menu which makes it a perfect addition to Raleigh,” Jane Kim explains. “When we first tried The Pickle’s food years ago, we were instantly hooked! We had never had their amazing Chicken Riggies before. Their sandwiches are piled high with freshly sliced meats, sliced so thin that each bite is indescribably tender. Having known Craig for many years, we knew this would be an excellent partnership,” says Kim.
Brooklyn Pickle started in 1975 with one location in Syracuse, NY and has expanded to three locations in Syracuse, one in Utica, NY and one in Southern Pines, NC, which opened last year. In NY, Brooklyn Pickle is very popular and was voted “Best Sandwich” by the Syracuse community for the 2022 CNYCentral Reader’s Choice Awards. The location in Southern Pines is quickly becoming a local favorite. Offering friendly, fast-paced service, and dedicated 15-minute, pick-up-only parking spots, Brooklyn Pickle Raleigh is conveniently located for a quick lunch. Customers will also enjoy their fresh, homemade dinners outside on the patio, with more than 50 seats and live evening music events each week.
The store’s new manager, Isabel Tangarife, trained in NY to prepare to lead her team in Raleigh. She reflects, “I am from Columbia where family is important. During my time training with Brooklyn Pickle in New York, I immediately felt so welcome, like family! Building a strong team culture is the most important thing because when my crew feels like them are part of a real community that supports one another, that love extends to our customers!”
