PAVIA – Il Kosmos Museum of Pavia opens its doors to a fascinating season of events, including exhibitions, conferences and workshops, which will accompany us from spring to autumn.

Spring dedicated to art and nature

It starts on Thursday 9 May at 6.00 pm with the conference “Nature on stage. The garden as a form of art and relationship between man and the environment”held by the art historian Federica Armiraglio. A journey through the gardens as works of art, symbols of harmony between man and nature.

Thursday 6 June at 9.30pm will be the cinema’s turn with the screening of the film “The Second Life”in the presence of the director Davide Gambino and the protagonist Maurizio Gattabria. A film that leads us to reflect on the delicate topic of animal extinction, telling the story of three taxidermists and the animals they prepare.

Autumn full of discoveries and reflections

From Friday 18 October the Museum will host the exhibition “Plasticons” of the sculptor Mariano Pieroni, an animal kingdom made with plastic and recycled materials. A work that invites us to reflect on the fragility of our planet and the danger it faces.

Saturday 19 October at 4pm Emanuele Biggi, Geo’s scientific communicator, will lead us to the discovery of “Microworlds”telling us the stories of animals, plants and life forms that hide in unreachable places or behind our door.

Thursday 24 October at 6.00 pm the illustrator Andrea Ambrogio will hold the conference “Naturalistic illustration in zoology and botany”while on Thursday 31 October at 6.00 pm he will guide us in a drawing workshop entitled “Natural history museums: ideas and studies for life drawing”.

The conference will conclude the program on Thursday 14 November at 6pm “Man and nature. Stories from Prehistory” Of Paolo Guaschicurator of the Paleontology section of the Kosmos Museum.

All appointments will be held in the Spallanzani Hall, with access from the Kosmos Museum.
