Livorno, 2 May 2024 – The Salviano Baccelli Festival returns on Sunday 5 May, starting at 9 am.
To allow the event to take place, the following traffic ordinance was issued which provides:
Effective on May 5th, from 7 am to midnight, and thereafter until the end of the cleaning operations carried out by A.Am.PS Spa, except for the Company’s vehicles:
• the establishment of a ban on vehicular transit and a ban on parking with forced removal in Via di Salviano, in the stretch between Via Costanza and Via di Levante;
• the establishment of a ban on vehicular transit and a ban on parking with forced removal in Via della Valle Benedetta, in the stretch between Via di Salviano and number 18 of the same Via della Valle Benedetta;
• the establishment of a ban on vehicular transit and parking with forced removal in the parking area located between via di Salviano and via di Levante;
• the establishment of two-way traffic in Via dei Pelaghi in the stretch between number 73 and via di Salviano;
• the establishment of a parking ban with forced removal in Via dei Pelaghi in the stretch between number 73 and via di Salviano, on the odd number side;
the establishment of a parking ban with forced removal in via dei Pelaghi in the stretch between number 4 and via di Salviano, on the same number of numbers;
• the establishment of a speed limit of 30 km/h in Via dei Pelaghi in the section subject to the above changes;
• the establishment of a parking ban with forced removal in Via del Giaggiolo in the stretch between number 3 and via di Salviano;
• the establishment of a ban on vehicular transit in Via del Giaggiolo, in the stretch between Via di Salviano and Via dell’Uliveta, except for vehicles in rescue and/or emergency service, residents’ vehicles, vehicles headed for internal garages present there, the vehicles serving disabled people equipped with the authorization pursuant to art. 381 of the Highway Code Implementation Regulation which can circulate in both directions;
• the establishment of a maximum speed limit of 20 km/h in the aforementioned section of Via del Giaggiolo;
•
• the establishment of a bus stop in via Lando Conti near the intersection with via Peppino Impastato, in front of the one already established with permanent Ordinance no. 32 of 3/1/2024
BELOW IS THE PROGRAM OF THE FESTIVAL
It is the 132nd appointment with this historic Livorno tradition, promoted by the Parish of S. Martino and the Circolo Arci “Carli” Salviano with the support of the Municipality of Livorno and this year also of the LEM Foundation.
An initiative to keep alive and make known the traditions of this part of the city, which was once the countryside but which still maintains, in some social spaces such as the Church and the Club, the identity and habits of the past, as underlined the organizers during the presentation held at Palazzo Comunale: Fabio Altini president of the Arci Carli Salviano club together with other representatives of the club, Luciana Lenzi, Federico Papini And Antonio Antoni representatives of the Parish of S. Martino Tre Arcangeli Pastoral Community, Dr. Maria Lia Papi, Adriano Tramonti of the LEM Foundation e Claudia Desideri responsible for the Commerce office in public areas.
For this 2024 edition the stalls will return, as in the past, to be positioned on the main road, via di Salvianofinally “reunified” after the completion of the work on the new bridge over the Rio Maggiore.
I am already 42 the commercial operators who have submitted an application to participate, and considering the possibility of joining as “selection holders” on the same day as the initiative, the organizers are confident that all 50 places included in the notice published in March by the Municipality’s Commerce and Tourism sector can go sold out. There will be food and service counters and vans, clothing counters, household items counters, etc.
In via della Chiesa di Salviano instead they will find a place the associations. Numerous, as always, and among the most representative of the city. Among them Ant National Tumor Association, the donor associations Avis, Admo and Gruppo Fratres, the Palliative Care association, Una rosa per il Cameroon, Auser, Anpana, Trine e Merletti, Tre Arcangeli pastoral community and others.
The stretch of Via di Salviano occupied by the stalls will be temporarily closed to traffic on Sunday 5 May. The “heart” of the festival can be approached from Via di Levante and Via dei Pelaghi (for which two-way traffic will temporarily be provided). The car park in via della Chiesa, reachable from via Peppino Impastato, will also be available, subject to availability.
As usual, the program of initiatives is rich, designed for all age groups. These are the main ones:
Friday 4 May
at 9pm tournament burraco.
Saturday 4 May
In the oratory of the Church of San Martino di Salviano, at 5 pm, conference in the Salviano areaheld by Dr Maria Lia Papi and the architect Riccardo Ciorli.
Also in the Church of San Martino, at 9pm, choir concert.
Sunday 5 May
At 12.30 pm at the Arci “Carli” Salviano club lunch with traditional dishes.
For the little onesfrom 3.30pm to 6.30pm, circus school alternating with a soap bubble show, with music and themed songs.
From 4pm guided tours to the small “museum” of the Church with its interesting finds. There will also be the opportunity to visit some ancient tombs brought to light during recent excavation campaigns.
At 8pm dinner and dance with orchestra.
