REGGIO Modena loses the derby and does so badly, with a performance well below satisfactory in the presence of a Reggiana team who with minimal effort still give themselves a playoff hope for the final of the tournament. Bisoli’s team, on the other hand, thanks the results of the others and has now archived salvation, all that is missing is the mathematics but it is more a statistical question than a realistic one. A small consolation for the over three thousand Canarian fans who arrived at the Mapei Stadium who, under incessant rain, witnessed one of the worst performances of the season, also in one of the most anticipated matches and which should have inspired a fascinating championship finale and which instead will be a probable catwalk for Como at Braglia and a presumably useless match in Lecco the last of the championship.
The match says very little on a technical level. A first half in which Modena attempted some attacks, badly wasted by Abiuso with two imprecise headers. Reggiana controlled without any particular worries, but in the second half the tune changed and after wasting a couple of chances they found the penalty thanks to the usual naivety of Oukhadda who knocked Pieragnolo practically off the field. Gondo makes no mistakes on the spot. It’s the 64th minute and from then on Modena will never be more dangerous in the Reggiana area.
