The Legambiente Foligno and Valli del Topino club has drawn up a document that will make available to the mayoral candidates of the upcoming electoral round to outline the next challenges that our territory will have to face regarding the environment and ecological transition.
Novelli: “The ecological transition is an urgent necessity”
“The ecological transition – explains Marco Novellipresident of the local club – it is not only a challenge but an urgent need to be activated in our territory too because climate change is now a problem at home: in our countryside, in the city and in our mountains. Legambiente has always had an active and proactive role, so, using the scientific approach that distinguishes us, we like to participate in public city life by proposing concrete and achievable actions to protect the health of our territory made up of the environment and citizens”.
The Legambiente Manifesto for candidates
Starting from an examination of why it is necessary to implement a just ecological transition in Foligno, the local club proposes a “LEGAMBIENTE MANIFESTO FOR THE NEXT GOVERNMENT OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF FOLIGNO” specifically defining WHAT TO DO and WHAT NOT TO DO with our next municipal government, which will be elected in June, and therefore identifying some of the most decisive issues for a city that wants to lead the transition and not suffer it.

What to do and what not to do
Among the things not to do, Legambiente Foligno lists the Southern Variation, land consumption, the construction of new shopping centers and non-contrast to wild parking. There are several proactive aspects for the future such as the need to take care of urban space and public greenery, the creation of mobility that is not dependent on cars and tourism that enhances the city.
