“Thank you for everything good that has been done”

Atletico Foligno’s first season in Serie A ends with an extraordinary early salvation that fills the club’s number 1, Maria Serena Piorico, with pride.

“In June last year, in the days following the victory of the “Futsal Finals” and the consequent promotion to the Serie A Championship, I felt great fear. I wondered if we were ready for this leap, from every point of view. I wasn’t worried about the result, if we were relegated it wouldn’t have been a tragedy.
I was more worried about the fact that I couldn’t guarantee everyone: staff, players, collaborators, managers and fans, a situation that would allow us to carry out this season in the best conditions. I had people close to me who repeated to me: “Come on… Let’s try!” Entrepreneurs who have chosen to support us financially and trust us. Collaborators and friends who went out of their way to make everything go as best as possible. After a few sleepless nights, I found the courage and strength to face everything. Finding it in the gaze of my girls, in their will, in their voices, full of joy and enthusiasm.
To this day, I can say thank you! Thank you for all the good things that have been done.”

And the list is endless.
“Thanks to our supporters who opened their hearts and shouted at the top of their lungs with us on Sunday. Thanks to the technical staff, who followed and supported our girls with seriousness and dedication, on and off the pitch, even just with a hug, even just with a smile. To ensure that on Sundays they could play against the “biggest” teams with the hungry gaze of those who take the field to compete, always. Thanks to the managers, who impeccably, without leaving anything out, made everything easier. Thanks to all the medical staff: doctors, masseurs and physiotherapists. Thanks to our speaker Paolo, the photographer Federico and all the curious journalists who took an interest in this family, our environment and our small but healthy reality. Thanks to the girls, to the players, who despite not being “professionals” have shown that they are nevertheless one. With seriousness, perseverance and patience. Even when the weather wasn’t the best.
And thanks also to those people who said: “But where do they want to go with this team?!” Because you have given us the strength to bet on ourselves like never before, making us proud to have “THIS TEAM!”.

And now forward.
“I don’t know what the future holds for us and for how much longer we will have the possibility of remaining in the top category, but in the meantime let’s enjoy this achievement, let’s enjoy our present, with the proud and proud gaze of those who know they have won the most difficult challenge of all!”.
