PESARO United and compact team with seven lists in support of the mayoral candidate for a team made up of approximately 220 candidates. It’s the battleship of Andrea Biancani yesterday morning gathered in one of the symbolic places of the Pesaro to come, i.e. the former railway warehouse behind the train station. So here is the civic list Biancani mayor, that of the Democratic Party, the Five Star Movement, the Green Alliance and the Left and the civics Forza Pesaro with Mila Della Dora, Una città in Comune with Enzo Belloni and the Lighthouse. Microphone in hand and on stage a more spirited Biancani than ever in just under 40 minutes of speech revealed the salient points of the program reiterating that the team that will now begin the actual electoral campaign aims to win in the first round.

The challenges

«One of the challenges that awaits us is already underway and it is that of Pesaro, the Italian capital of culture – he concludes – in the summer period the most important events for a project that does not end this year but which lays the foundations for the future». The second major theme is social policies with “attention to the most vulnerable people, to services for them and for all childhood to be even more of a welcoming and inclusive city”.

The third theme is that of «Neighborhoods and I put it in capital letters: they must be listened to and supported by responding to their requests». The fourth theme is maintenance and carrying forward the many projects announced and started that need to be completed. «For example – he argues – the places of culture: the National Motorcycle Museum at the former court, the Conservatory, Rocca Costanza, the Oliveriana library, Palazzo Ricci and Palazzo Mazzolari and for the former social housing the former San Benedetto mental hospital, via delle Vetrerie, Palazzo Aymonino, Roncaglia, Fiorenzuola and Santa Marina”.

The list then continues with car parks, public spaces such as San Domenico, Giulii vegetable gardens and strategic places of public interest such as the former finance office and Pesaro station. Fifth point is the environment: «A city with more greenery and more trees is a better place to live, climate change is clearly visible and we must focus on greenery to make our contribution». As a sixth point, what «for us is an inestimable heritage of the city, i.e. volunteering which must be increasingly supported and helped». Finally, the work of companies, farmers and professionals who «ask us to be able to respond to their needs, know how to listen to them and understand where to make choices, above all with simple and streamlined procedures».

Biancani underlines that to do all this “you need competence and knowledge of how the municipal administration works”. Then the dig at the opposition: «To be the mayor of a city you can’t improvise, you have to have civic sense, love the city and know how to maintain relationships with institutions and administrations». There is also no shortage of other digs, directed at the Region especially in terms of healthcare: «The new hospital in Pesaro has not yet started but from my point of view the choice to invest in almost 200 beds instead of a new 600 hospital is wrong as it was a mistake to have closed the Marche Nord company and in fact there is a lack of staff and all the top management is leaving because the company act in the current conditions is not feasible and they will close departments after the elections”.

Ricci in the front row

Biancani, however, does not forget the whole team because «a mayor alone doesn’t go anywhere. I thank you all and thanks to those who brought Pesaro this far” he underlines pointing to Matteo Ricci in the front row among the public and recalling that on the 8th and 9th we will also vote for the European elections and having a former mayor in the European Parliament is an invaluable more for the territory.” He closes with the watchwords and the slogan: «We are the extra gear for Pesaro: vision, future concreteness and competence, moving forward together».
