Water cannons, truncheons and tear gas today in Turin by the police to repel the protesters organized in procession on the occasion of the G7 in Venaria. Police and carabinieri in riot gear have been blocking the way to the red zone of Piazza Carlina in Turin for hours, where one of the hotels hosting the summit delegation, in particular the environment ministers, is located. The demonstrators marching with banners and flags tried to break the police line-up and came into contact with the officers.

One of the clashes in via Santa Giulia, not far from Palazzo Nuovo, where the parties came into contact. Officers also responded by throwing tear gas. The demonstrators hit the officers in several places to try to enter Piazza Vittorio Veneto. In Corso San Maurizio the police used water cannons.

The demonstrators moved away several times and then ran to other nearby streets where, however, they always found the police deployed. In some cases policemen and carabinieri were hit with flag poles and throwing objects such as bottles, eggs and smoke bombs. Chairs and tables from a bar were also thrown in via Verdi. The police reacted with a lightening charge.

Various student associations and militants from the Askatasuna social center participate in the anti-G7 march, which started from the University. The city center area is completely blocked. The main roads such as Corso Regina Margherita and along Dora Siena were closed. Traffic is paralyzed and not even public transport passes.
