The investment for the expansion and modernization of the boarding area at Lamezia Terme airport, which will be completed by next June, amounts to just over five million euros. Taking stock of the state of the art of the works financed by “Cis Calabria”, at the conclusion of an inspection held on the sidelines of the mid-term press conference, were the President of the Region Roberto Occhiuto and the sole administrator of Sacal, the management company of the Calabrian airports, Marco Franchini.
“This block – said Occhiuto – is the first and will serve to dismantle that horrible curtain that I promised myself would remove as soon as possible and to have the possibility of new gates here which will have to be even further than those that were there before in airport, because as you know we are increasing the number of flights. I would like to point out that for that tent, the airport management company, Sacal, had been paying 19 thousand euros per month for years, therefore more than 220 thousand euros per year. Dignity to the airport infrastructure

For the end of June we could organize a nice event to start the activities inside this room which will host a service area, with the new bar-restaurant room and which can be used as an arrival area in the future”.
“We lost a lot of time for the authorizations and overcame all the difficulties even with these beams with the pride of Calabrian companies and we can say that there is a piece of Calabria in the realization of this beginning.
