This is disturbing.” While on the choice of Conte and the M5s to insert the word “peace” in the symbol, Schlein comments: “I think it is difficult to find someone who does not agree with the idea of peace. The point is: how do we build that peace? “.
“EU works to isolate Russia”
Schlein touched on many topics, including the war in Ukraine. The idea of the Democratic Party is to “support the invaded people, but also to be aware that weapons are not enough to put an end to this conflict”. And on Russia he explains: “The EU must work to isolate it”.
On climate “right-wing denialism doesn’t help the country”
While on the climate, he attacks: “The denialism of the right does not help the country.” Nuclear, he adds, “is not compatible with times and costs, we don’t have time, we have technologies for renewables. For us today this is not the path, but to focus on renewable technologies”.
The healthcare plan
Then a passage also on healthcare. On the subject, for Schlein the right “thinks about this aspect only for those who have money”. The Democratic Party’s proposal is this: “Let’s reach 7.5% of GDP on healthcare, and let’s arrive at an extraordinary hiring plan.” “It is not serious to say, as Meloni does, that you want to unblock the waiting lists, if hiring is not unblocked”, explains the Democratic secretary.
Sability pact: “Meloni and Giorgetti disavowed”
While on the Stability Pact, he specifies: “We have always contested the compromise, which is why we abstained. What is sensational is that the government forces abstained, disavowing Meloni and Giorgetti”.
