MONZA – Italian champions for the second time, Sir Susa Vim Perugia finally shouts out loud and celebrates. This championship seemed cursed and had failed to be won since 2018. It took all your heart and a good dose of thrills to beat the revelation Mint Vero Volley Monza. At the beginning of the season, the block-devils were not the favorites but they managed to climb to the top of Italy while always maintaining a low profile. A sensational result that makes up a wonderful poker in a perfect season: Super Cup, Club World Cup, Italian Cup and Super League. A perfect competitive year that also manages to reduce the hat-trick achieved in 2018.
Not bad for a team that had often been mocked by opposing fans as the one that always stopped at the best moment. A result that also dispels coach Lorenzetti’s taboo that time wanted him to win the scudetto every seven years (Modena 2002, Piacenza 2009, Modena 2016, Trento 2023) and which instead was repeated immediately after last season’s feat. On the pitch there is nothing new among the starters compared to previous matches. In the end, terrible management leads to the advantages where it is a mistake by Maar that averts the worst. Fourth set with a positive start in the wake of the danger being averted and with Resende Gualberto infallible (5-9). Monza becomes disunited and begins to make mistakes (11-17). Anything happens and Perugia reopens the contest by conceding five consecutive points (16-17). What makes the fear go away is Leòn who starts off like a rocket (18-23).
