New road accident on the Messina ring road, this time near the San Filippo junction towards Palermo, at the point where you are traveling on the single lane. This morning, a van and a truck collided.
Despite the slow speed at which the vehicles were travelling, one man was injured. Once the emergency services were alerted, the ambulances and firefighters arrived. The latter had to intervene to free the driver from the sheets of the vehicle in which he had been stuck.
The man was transported by ambulance to hospital. The officers also arrived at the scene of the accident to manage the traffic which, inevitably, suffered severe slowdowns.
Yesterday two accidents occurred on the ring road. A man on board a scooter had crashed in the tunnel, between San Filippo and Gazzi, in the direction of Palermo. The man was transported in serious condition, code red, to the Polyclinic.
Shortly afterwards, a man driving a car lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the barriers. The motorist was rescued by 118 and transported to the Polyclinic.
